My Life in SUST
Looking back on my college life, I feel so lucky that I have spent four wonderful years in Suzhou Science and Technology University (SUST). As a senior this year, I’d like to share how SUST has influenced me and what SUST means to me.
First of all, SUST provides us with a broad range of courses that can help us build a solid foundation of knowledge. I majored in Computer Science and Technology, and I took a variety of courses during my four years of study, such as data structure, algorithm, network technology, and database. These courses not only improved my programming skills, but also broadened my horizons and showed me the beauty of computer science. In addition, SUST has established cooperative relationships with many well-known enterprises, which provides us opportunities to have internships or work in these companies. I had the chance to work as an intern in a software company in Shanghai for half a year, which greatly improved my practical ability and helped me clarify my career goals.
Secondly, SUST has a wealth of extracurricular activities that can help us develop our abilities and interests. There are many student organizations on campus, such as the Student Union, the Youth League Committee, and the Volunteer Association. I was a member of the Student Union during my freshman year, and I had the opportunity to organize and participate in various activities, such as welcoming new students, fundraising for charity, and organizing parties. These experiences helped me develop my leadership skills and communication skills. In addition, SUST organizes many academic and cultural events every year, such as science and technology competitions, cultural festivals, and academic seminars, which provide opportunities for us to gain more knowledge and enhance our cultural accomplishments.
Finally, SUST has a warm and caring campus culture, which makes us feel like we are a big family. The faculty and staff at SUST are always ready to help and support us. They are not only our teachers, but also our mentors and friends. Moreover, SUST has established a set of student support services, such as psychological counseling, career guidance, and financial aid, to help students cope with various difficulties and challenges. For example, when I encountered a financial problem due to my family’s difficulties, the university provided me with timely and effective help, which touched me deeply and made me more determined to work hard and make greater contributions to society in the future.
In conclusion, SUST is not just a university, but a place where we can learn, grow, and become successful. My experience in SUST has been unforgettable, and I will always remember the precious lessons I have learned and the wonderful memories I have had here.
